How To Make A No Sew Face Mask With A Bandanna And Two Hair Ties

I try to keep my "out of the house" trips to a minimum, once a week or less when possible. This week, I made a trip to the market for those essentials & I started seeing more & more people wearing face masks. It made me wonder... is it time for me to do the same?

I'm a little conflicted. A friend of mine who is a nurse gave me a couple masks when I went to Mexico at the beginning of the month before there was a shortage & toilet paper was hard to come by. I never ended up using them on the plane, but I still have them. I plan on dropping them off on her porch the next time I am near her as she will need them more than me right now. But what can we do to protect ourselves without masks of our own?

I'm sure you've seen the sewing tutorials all over the place online, and people are making them at home & sending them to hospitals around the country, and that is awesome! If... you can sew, and own a sewing machine. I do own a machine, can sew & have fabric here at home. But I'm still working & honestly, haven't really had the time to do projects like that - maybe this weekend! If you're in a similar boat, or you are unable to sew, here's another option I found for you: you can make a face mask using a bandanna & 2 hair ties!

Lucky for me, my dog Gunnar is a Bandanna Dog, and I have probably 20 Bandannas for him here at home. If you don't have a bandanna, they are only a couple bucks at the store or you can buy them online.

I'm not so sure these are good enough quality for health care workers, but they've got be better than nothing for you & I running to the market, keeping the highest quality materials for those directly on the front lines every single day.

Here's the video tutorial on how to make your own no sew face mask at home, using just a single bandanna & 2 hair ties.
