I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm really not into all those made for TV Christmas movies. I think the story lines are a little cheesy, I always find inconsistencies & I'd rather just use that time watching the classics. You know, the holiday movies you've come to know & love. I have a few of them... "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" (any version), "The Santa Clause" & one that I feel has become a classic, yet was just released in 2003... "Elf".
It does kinda feel like "Elf" just came out last year, but it's been 16 years. Maybe it's because we only watch it for a month or two a year? But it's become a favorite of mine, as well as many of my friends & family. Plus come on, Will Farrell is just hilarious.
Well, here's a new twist. Someone recreated the "Elf" trailer as a thriller movie. And honestly? It looks pretty twisted, and I'd probably go see it! Of course, it would then become a movie that I would say does not classify as a Christmas movie like "Die Hard" & even "Home Alone". Both of those movies may have happened around Christmas-time, but I think they could be watched any time of year & you could easily pull Christmas from the story line & it would still work. And while we're at it, I'm gonna throw "White Christmas" into this mix as well! Challenge me! LOL.
Anyway, I'm off topic. Here's "Elf" done as a thriller:
