Do you depend on coffee to get thru your day? Yeah, me too. While I do try to brew my own coffee at home (the drive thru can get really expensive!), it's always nice to treat yourself now & then. Plus there's just the convenience of it all. Want something fancy or special for your morning coffee? Hit up the drive thru. Out of half & half? Hit up the drive thru. Feeling lazy before you leave? Hit up the drive thru. Win-win!
Well here's something cool. Panera Bread is starting a Coffee Subscription for $8.99/month. That's about the same price as 4 regularly priced coffees at Panera. Could they be trying to get you to stop at their bakery in the morning for a cup of joe & breakfast sandwich or pastry? It certainly seems that way. I think we all know that Panera serves breakfast, but I can honestly say I've gone maybe once, and it was for an informal business meeting. But for $9 a month, I can get unlimited coffee? I can't even buy enough ground coffee to get me thru the month for that price!
There's just one little thing stopping me. Convenience.
The first would be location convenience. Unfortunately, I don't directly pass by a Panera Bread on my commute in the morning, versus the 15+/- other chains & gas stations that I do.
The second, car convenience. What I mean by that... I don't want to get out of my car. I like the drive thru when I'm on my way to work. I actually wish convenience stores had drive thru's, that would be amazing! But if you haven't been to a Panera Bread in awhile, you may be pleased to know that many are starting to add Drive-Thru's to their restaurants. Panera's in Latham, Colonie, Glenville, Malta, Saratoga & North Greenbush.
