One of my favorite days in Spring is the opening of Kay's Pizza. If you've never been to Kay's, you need to make it one of your stops this Summer. The restaurant nestled on Burden Lake in Averill Park is open seasonally late March thru mid-October. In the Summertime around dinner on a Friday or Saturday night, you can expect to wait an hour or longer for a table. But I promise you, it's worth the wait.
Towards the end of each season, Kay's Pizza offers "Pizza Kits" to customers, which allows them to freeze the kits & enjoy delicious Kay's at home throughout the winter. Given the state mandate that restaurants cannot be open for dining, this certainly puts a damper on some of our favorite things. But Kay's has given us a glimmer of hope... by selling their pizza kits again starting NOW. They are officially open as of today for Pizza Kits & Gift Cards on weekdays, and their target date to open for Take Out will be Saturday, April 4th.
So if you're looking for some normalcy during this not so normal time, go ahead & treat yourself to a Kay's Pizza Kit. You won't regret it.
