Rensselaer County Residents To Receive Free Washable Face Masks

It is still difficult to find face masks in stores, and ordering online can take weeks to receive in the mail. Rensselaer County residents who are still in need of proper face covering due to COVID-19 will find some relief.

On Monday, the County announced a plan to distribute cloth face masks made by Hanes to county residents on Wednesday, April 29th from 4 - 6pm. The County strategically set up 5 pick up locations throughout the county, including downtown Troy, Schodak, Schaghticoke, North Hoosick & Stephentown. With pick up locations spread out, residents should be able to visit a pick up location closest to them without much inconvenience.

Upon arrival, it is asked that you stay in your vehicle unless instructed otherwise & masks will be handed to you. Locations include:

  • Troy: County Government Center, 1600 7th Avenue, downtown Troy
  • Schodak: Schodak Town Hall, 265 Schuurman Road, Schodak (Castleton, for GPS)
  • Schaghticoke: Schaghticoke Town Hall, 290 Northline Drive, Schaghticoke (Melose, for GPS)
  • North Hoosick: North Hoosick Fire Department, 22106 NY Route 22, North Hoosick
  • Stephentown: Stephentown Fire Department Fire Hall, 35 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown
