The lack of racing won't be stopping Lebanon Valley Speedway fans from coming to the track on an upcoming Saturday night. The racing season is usually underway by now, but with COVID-19 closing non-essential businesses & banning events with large crowds, there is no racing this Spring at the Valley. That has left many fans nostalgic for one of the things the Columbia County race track is known for... their FOOD.
If you've ever spent an evening at Lebanon Valley Speedway, be it for their regular Saturday night racing, Monster Jam, Eve of Destruction or any of their other special events, you've definitely walked thru their concession stand with a stack of one dollar bills to make your purchases. From the pizza, to the grinders, burgers & the famous (to us!) french fries, you can't go wrong with dinner at the Valley. Oh, and you've GOTTA add the Malt Vinegar to your fries, there's no doubt about it!
On Saturday, May 9th from 5 - 7pm, Lebanon Valley Speedway will be hosting their first "Drive Up, Pick Up" at the Track. You may not be able to get the added bonus of dirt absolutely covering everything in a 2 mile radius, but you can still enjoy some of the Valley food.
On their first night, they will be offering a meal of your choice of grinder (meatball or sausage), baked beans, french fries (no word if you can request that malt vinegar) & a soda. The meal costs $12 & must be ordered in advance & paid for online or by calling the office at 518-794-9606. Patrons will drive up, give their name & their food will be brought to them in their car. They will not be taking any orders day of.
If the grinders aren't your favorite food from the Track, check back as it appears they will continue to offer this service in the coming weeks with different meal options.
This is just another way local businesses are adapting during these trying times, I hope you'll consider supporting them!
