Walker Hayes captured the feeling of “being a dad and missing mine” as he released two new songs on Friday (Mach 17), including one music video featuring his daughters. Hayes debuted “If Father Time Had a Daughter” — promising that Loxley Hayes, featured in the song, would “steal the show” — and “6 String American Dream.”
Loxley, grinning from ear to ear, said she was “really” excited to share the new song on Friday, and agreed to sing it with her superstar dad on tour. Hayes posted a clip of the father-daughter duo on Instagram from Kigali, Rwanda, in Africa.
“6 String American Dream is as honest as they come,” Hayes shared earlier this week of his other song that he shared on Friday. “These past 2 years have been outstanding to me. All of my dreams comin true.. but in a very sobering way It didn’t fix anythin that matters. That’s what this song revolves around.”
“If Father Time Had a Daughter” and “6 String American Dream” join previously-released fan-favorites by Hayes, including “Fancy Like,” “Y’all Life,” “AA,” “90’s Country,” “You Broke Up With Me” and plenty others. Listen to the latest two releases below.
