Breeze Airways is set to begin operations at Albany International Airport this June, offering new travel options for local residents. The airline will provide nonstop flights to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina, as well as a one-stop service to Fort Myers, Florida. Flights will be available starting June 5 and June 13, with fares beginning at $49 one way.

Breeze Airways, known for its low-cost fares and premium service, will become the eighth airline operating out of Albany International Airport. The airline will use the Airbus A220, a 137-seat aircraft featuring various seating options, including first-class style Ascent seats and fast inflight WiFi. According to Albany Airport, the addition of Breeze Airways reflects the airport's commitment to expanding air service options and meeting passenger demand.

David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, expressed excitement about the new routes, stating, "We continue to see high demand from our Guests in the Northeast for more travel options in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond." The airline's expansion to Albany marks its seventh city in New York state, further strengthening its presence in the Northeast.

Peter Stuto, acting CEO of Albany International Airport, noted that the expansion had been in discussion for some time. "It was sort of a dream," he said. "But we didn’t find out until a few days ago that Breeze decided to come to Albany." Breeze Airways is offering promotional fares in celebration of its arrival, with plans to potentially expand its flight offerings as winter approaches.
