Friday, May 3rd, Luke Combs closed out the Festival Stage at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, but little did anybody know, he was not yet done performing in New Orleans. Every year during Jazz Fest, the iconic Preservation Hall hosts Midnight Preserves, which are late night shows starring the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and special guests that are secret right up until show time. A lot of times, the special guests played at Jazz Fest earlier that day or are slated to play that weekend. Midnight Preserves is a fundraiser for the Preservation Hall Foundation, which has many initiatives including music education, community engagements, and support of elder musicians. There are only about 100 people in attendance inside the performance room of Midnight Preserves, which makes these performances extra special!
Luke was a special guest at Midnight Preserves hours after his set at Jazz Fest May 3. He just released one of the songs he performed with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and New Orleans Legend Ivan Neville, which is the Sam Cooke classic "Bring It On Home."
I bet you have never heard Luke perform like this - and after watching and listening to this performance, I bet you want to hear more! I know I do!
