A new fitness trend is sweeping the nation, and we can't help but squeal with excitement that it's coming to the Capital Region!
I'm talking about Goat Yoga. We first heard of this trend at the beginning of this year, with a farm in Oregon having a 600 person waiting list. The concept is quite simple... you attend a yoga class which has a very special guest: goats! You get a great workout, and you won't be able to stop smiling the entire class as goats surround you, jump around or on you, or maybe just head butt you for a quick nuzzle during your Tree Pose.
Goat Yoga is coming to Hancock Shaker Village on May 27th & 28th, just a short drive from Albany over to Pittsfield, Mass. The 2 day event is a fundraising effort to raise funds for "Save Our Silos". Hancock Shaker Village has raised $82,000 of the $90,000 goal to repair the Village's silos built in 1908 which were damaged by a winter storm.
The $25 fee includes a 1 hour class for Goat Yoga, plus admission to Hancock Shaker Village. Tickets can be purchased here.
