Woman Accidentally Ordered a $2,300 Drink on New Year's Eve

Have you ever ordered something from a bar or restaurant menu without looking at the price…and then suffered from sticker shock afterward?

That happened to a woman named Lynsey this past New Year’s.

While staying at a five-star London hotel, she ordered a cocktail she thought cost 18.90 pounds (or just over $23). It turns out that the menu had no decimal point…and the cost was 1,890 pounds (or over $2,300).

When the bill came, her partner was pissed, and she was on the verge of hysterics.

Fortunately for her, this wasn’t the first time this had happened, and she wasn’t charged, but the bartender…who was new…had to go through re-training so he’d know to ask more questions before cracking open that bottle of Cristal for that particular cocktail.

First, however, the manager told Lynsey that he had to fire the bartender for the mistake, and then let her know she was joking after the crying started.
